Open Innovation Tech Challenge

Is a training bootcamp for Ukrainian technology startups. The program aims to support young businesses that address and solve important social and environmental issues.

Bootcamp opens its doors to 20 experienced teams that develop innovative technology business in agriculture, environment, education, and health.

Each sector will be represented by 5 teams. The final pitch competition will define a winner in each of the mentioned above areas. They will be awarded a grant for business development of $10 000.

Bootcamp participants will be able to receive recommendations from the best Ukrainian and American mentors who will be present at the location.

The Open Innovation Tech Challenge will be held in a hybrid mode – online and offline*.

Participants will work at the location, however, mentoring sessions, as well as some expert and mentor classes will be launched via online platforms.

Sessions with American and Ukrainian experts (online + at the venue): lectures, seminars, workshops, and group discussions. The following topics will be conveyed: research of and market identification for startups, entering new markets, marketing in startups and technologies, fundraising.

Participants will also join individual mentoring sessions with experts to receive recommendations.

5.10.2021

During the first part of the working day, the mentoring sessions will take place. Our experts and mentors will deliver lectures and consultations.

In the afternoon, there will be presentations of projects – Pitch Competition, which will define four holders of grants for business development from our partner CRDF Global.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our program is designed for working technology startups, operating in the following areas:

  • Agricultural technologies
  • Renewable energy
  • Education technologies
  • Innovations in the healthcare sector


We are looking for candidates whose startup investment experience does not exceed $1 000 000.

Through the registration form, we will receive applications and presentations of ideas/projects. Independent experts from the Ukrainian Hub and CRDF Global will work on their assessment.

The program will be conducted in a hybrid model. It means that most of the participants and mentors will be present at the venue. However, there will be some exceptions, according to which participants or mentors will join the boot camp online.

Dissemination of information and communication will take place through online platforms. All lectures and seminars, mentoring sessions, as well as pitches will be held live. Participants who will not be able to come to the venue will have the opportunity to join the activities using online tools.

We care about your data protection. Therefore, all the information that users enter while registering on the site is accessible only for the organizers of the event and is not subject to disclosure or transfer to third parties.

It is compulsory to present your startup/idea/project in English. Because we are getting ready to enter the global arena, aren’t we?

Grant implementation work will be carried out under the guidance of the CRDF Global fund managers within 3 months after the end of the Open Innovation Tech Challenge.
