Implemented projects

This year, despite the challenges and consequences of covid-19, we assembled strong project teams and, with the support of the American organization CRDF Global, implemented 3 training programs for early stage startups, and also provided an opportunity educational tour to Lisbon, to an international conference Web Summit.

The results and achievements of the participating teams of our initiatives are truly impressive and a matter of our pride. We will make efforts and do everything in our power to promote Ukrainian startups and provide opportunities for even greater development of Ukrainian enterprises

Global Pivot to Success

Training program and pitch competition for startups

In April 2021, Ukrainian Hub together with CRDF Global conducted an online GPS training program for entrepreneurs in the technological field. The program consisted of two parts:

  • a series of trainings, lectures and workshops (5 days)
  • bootcamp and Pitch Competition (2 days)


64 project applications from Ukraine were submitted to the program, 15 of them were selected for participation. 16 mentors were invited to the program - experts from various fields who, in addition to training, also conducted individual mentoring sessions.

In the final pitch competitions, 3 winners were determined, who received $10,000 each from CRDF Global for project development.

Virtual Incubation Program

A virtual curriculum and bootcamp for university-based projects

From August 9 to 20, 2021, with the support of CRDF Global, it was held all-Ukrainian educational program — Virtual Incubation Program.

They took part in the program online 72 participants (students, scientists and activists). 15 participants were selected for the final bootcamp, where they underwent intensive training, mentoring sessions with experts and presented their projects to the competition jury.

Three teams - the winners of the final pitch competition received grants for business development in the amount of $ 10 000.

A project of a national scale, almost 100 applications were received from all over the country, 72 participants took part in the virtual program, 15 of them in the bootcamp

OPEN INNOVATION TECH CHALLENGE

Bootcamp and pitch competition for startups from 4 fields: agriculture, renewable energy, education and health.

The program took place in October 2021, in a hybrid format in Kyiv.
The program consisted of two parts:
  • bootcamp: lectures and workshops, mentoring sessions
  • final Pitch Competition (for 4 fields)
39 project applications from Ukraine were submitted to the program, 20 of them were selected for participation.

In the final competition, 3 winners from each field were determined (totally 12 teams), who received: $10,000 each for project development, travel grants and the Web Summit conference from CRDF Global, and grants for using AWS services.

Ukrainian Pavilion at Web Summit

The first official pavilion of the Ukrainian technological ecosystem at the Web Summit

This year, the Ukrainian Hub became a co-organizer of the initiative - the Ukrainian Pavilion at the Web Summit (Lisbon, Portugal).

Ukraine held three activities as part of WebSummit:

the stand of the Ukrainian technological ecosystem, a master class and a networking party. In the first pavilion of the conference, where the partners of the initiative and 14 Ukrainian startups throughout the summit presented their companies and products under the single brand of the Ukrainian technological ecosystem.

Startups had this opportunity thanks to the support of the Ukrainian Startup Fund and CRDF Global.
At the master class, representatives of partner companies reported on the state and directions of development of the ecosystem as a whole, and almost 250 guests gathered at the loudest party.
