Implemented projects

In 2023, the NGO "Ukrainian Hub" continued its mission of providing support and development of Ukrainian startups and entrepreneurial initiatives, particularly among women. We actively worked on strengthening the technological community, expanding international cooperation, and launching new projects and programs.

During this year, 2 educational programs for women, 2 international delegations for startups were implemented, and the development of digital platforms was initiated: a mentoring platform for consulting on business development of Ukrainian entrepreneurs and a partner platform.

AMARELO AZUL BUSINESS CAMPS

Training program for Ukrainian women entrepreneurs in Portugal

The team of the Ukrainian Hub launched the innovative training program "Amarelo Azul" aimed at supporting Ukrainian women entrepreneurs in Portugal. The program was designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills in business development, marketing, financial management, as well as legal aspects of doing business in a new country. A key feature of the program was its ability to adapt to the specific needs of refugee women, providing not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical tools to implement their own business ideas. 

Thanks to “Amarelo Azul”, many participants received the necessary support and confidence to develop their own entrepreneurial initiatives, making a significant contribution to the local economy of Portugal.

 

The program is implemented with the support of partners: Millennium bcp Foundation, Ukrainian American Coordinating Council, European Commission in Portugal, Startup Lisboa, Academy for Women Entrepreneurs

Web Summit Rio 2023

Delegation of startups and ecosystem at Web Summit Rio (Brazil, Latin America)

The project of the participation of the Ukrainian delegation at Web Summit Rio was implemented jointly with the Ukrainian Startup Fund and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, with the support of the "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" program from USAID and partners: Ukrainian American Coordinating Council, Flyer One Ventures. The initiative culminated in May at one of the largest international arenas for technology startups.

Participation in Web Summit Rio provided Ukrainian startups with a unique opportunity to demonstrate their innovations, expand their network of contacts, attract investments and establish partnerships in a new market - Latin America. Thanks to the coordinated work and support of our partners, the project participants were able to effectively present the potential of the Ukrainian technological sector, receive valuable feedback from the international community, and open new ways for the development of their businesses.

This participation became an important step in the support and development of international cooperation, demonstrating to the world the innovative potential and ambitions of Ukrainian technological projects. The success of our delegation at the Web Summit Rio emphasizes the importance of international partnerships and cooperation for the promotion of the Ukrainian innovation sector on the world stage.

Pavilion of the Ukrainian technological ecosystem at Web Summit

The project of the Ukrainian pavilion and delegation of startups at the Web Summit in Lisbon was implemented by the Ukrainian Hub team in partnership with the Ukrainian Startup Fund and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, with the support USAID Program "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" and Embassies of Ukraine in Portugal, general partner — Roosh and partners — WNISEF, UNIT. City, Genesis, Flyer One Ventures, of the NOVA group of companies (New Post), Ukrainian American Coordinating Council.

This project became a clear example of successful international cooperation and effective presentation of Ukrainian technological potential on one of the most prestigious global platforms.

The Ukrainian pavilion at the Web Summit in Lisbon brought together innovative startups and technology companies from Ukraine, presenting unique developments and solutions from 25 teams to a wide international audience. 

Thanks to cooperation with key partners and the support of government organizations and donors, the project provided Ukrainian startups with an outstanding platform to share experiences and attract global attention to technological innovations developing in Ukraine.

MENTORING AND PARTNERSHIP PLATFORM

A platform for providing consultations and special offers

In 2023, the Ukrainian Hub team initiated the launch of an ambitious project designed to play a key role in the support and development of Ukrainian technology startups and entrepreneurs.

Mentoring platform: provides a unique opportunity for startups to receive valuable advice and mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and experts in various fields of technology and business.

Partner network: promotes cooperation between startups, investors, and other key players of the technological ecosystem, opening new opportunities for development and scaling.

Information portal: Users get access to a wide range of educational materials, webinars, and workshops aimed at improving their competencies and business efficiency.

The launch of mentoring and partner platforms is an important step in supporting the Ukrainian technology community, with the aim of stimulating innovative development and entrepreneurial activity.

V4 Ukrainian Startup Force

Support program for startups in the Visegrad Four countries

The team of the Ukrainian Hub in cooperation with partners: Design Terminal, ICH Hub, Startup Hub Poland, DEX Innovation Center implemented a startup support program V4 Ukrainian Startup Force, which opened new horizons for Ukrainian startups thanks to cooperation with the countries of the Visegrad Group. This project was made possible by co-financing from the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through the Visegrad Grants of the International Visegrad Foundation. 

Main aspects of the program:

Mentoring and consulting: Startups received a unique development opportunity thanks to mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and experts from B4 countries, which helped them adapt to new markets.

Networking: The program contributed to the establishment of valuable business contacts, opening the door to international cooperation and investment.

Pitching: Participants presented their projects to an international audience, receiving valuable feedback and recommendations.

The successful implementation of the program became an example of effective international cooperation aimed at supporting innovation and start-ups, and demonstrated the importance of joining efforts to achieve sustainable development.

BUSINESS MODELING TRAINING PROGRAM FOR IDP WOMEN

Business training program for IDP women

In September-November 2023, the Ukrainian Hub team together with Charity organization "Promprylad" implemented a unique educational program for IDP women in Ukraine. This initiative included a week-long online bootcamp on business planning and business modeling, which provided participants with important knowledge and practical skills to create and develop their own business projects.

The main characteristics of the program:

– Lectures and practical workshops: Participants had the opportunity to take part in a series of lectures and practical workshops conducted by leading experts in the field of business. This allowed them to gain a deep understanding of key aspects of business planning and modeling.

– Individual approach: Each participant was given individual attention in order to maximally adapt the material to her personal needs and business ideas.

- Interaction and cooperation: The program stimulated active interaction and exchange of experiences between participants, contributing to the formation of a strong community of women entrepreneurs.

WE intend to continue to actively develop the educational direction, focusing on conducting training camps and acceleration programs.
